Ok I am still getting this light green haze about every 3-4 days on the glass Comes right off with the magnet. Any ideas let me know

I think you will always.... it is most likely algea growing on the glass.... I am not a BB person... but I would think you would still have to clean the glass every couple of days. Please someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have had the same thing for a number of months. I just wipe it off wit the magnet every 3-4 days.

does it go away with time?
Is there a reason why it is growing and is there anything I can do to impeed its progress?

If you have green algae growing on your glass it means you have phospate. Try skimming wetter to solve this problem, or improving your skimmers ability to get nutreants to remove.

It's normal for your tank to have this. Most nutrient bare tanks only get this and have to clean around a week. I have to do it about every 4 days. It's nothing to worry about and every tank needs some phosphates to survive.

no p04 on salifert lamotte and sea test so dont think thats it getting ready to get some double enders and those luminarc minis so we will see what happens to the algea. Thanks for you guys help

I bet it's your skimmer. Nutrients are what's causing this, and you're probably not exporting enough which is causing this problem.

Having zero PO4 readings doesn't necessarily means you don't have phosphates in your system IMO, and I don't think changing your lighting will have any impact on the algae at all. I agree with dirty reefer, its nutrients that's causing this.

Yep, ETSS skimmers kind of suck IMO. There are plenty of guys who swear by them but from my experience, in comparison to the cost effectiveness of other skimmers, they still suck.

A big thread for skimmer comparasion

I am running BB and get it about every 4-5 days, comes right off very easyily, never worried about it. Everything else is doing extremely well and it only takes about 3 minutes to clean off the glass.

Bulbs do not cause algae. They can cause it IF there are nutrients. Don't sweat it IMO. I'd also upgrade the skimmer. I wasn't impressed with the ETSS line either but that is JMO.

Umm.......Is it expected that with LOW to ZERO nutrients that we should expect NO green haze/algae to form on our tank viewing glass/acrylic panels?

H22ATypeS: funniest occupation ive ever seen.

Secondly, low nutrients is not necessarily good. A little film algea is a good sign in my book.

so don't sweat it......

My Etss is a great skimmer but I would like to have a beckett.
On the other the etss performs very well with about 2 fluid cups everyother day of the light tea look.

Thank you for all of your reponses and time
