Head and Lateral Line Erosion

I just aquired a sailfin tang and it has head and lateral line erosion. Everything that i have read says that as long as the tang is in good water conditions with lots of liverock then it will eventually heal itself. Is this the common theory or does anyone else have any ideas to try. It has not progressed very far from what i can tell about what i have read about it. Seems to be a minor case, but i have never dealt with this issue before. Any info would be greatly welcomed.

try increasing it's diet give it vitamin c as well as increase it's nutrient's from what I understand this as well as good husbandry can cure HHLE . Some say running carbon all the time and some say stray electricity can cause it . I would lean more towards poor diet and lack of nutrition.
