health and fragging question

do zoas grow stronger and healthier if they are fragged? if they are not fragged to they smother each other and grow slower?

Zoas can compete with one another... I keep mine fragged, just so that their mats don't intermingle... One type of zoa can grow over another and then "smother" it to non-existance... If space is limited, they will sometimes be unable to fully expand and look crowded... I keep some of my colonies like this, and others I frag, depending on how I like the look...

In this pic, I removed the blue zoos in the center to keep them from being overgrown, but I like the yellow zoos overcrowded just because I like the look...

These, Mellow Yellows are taking over some Red zoas, but I don't really care, cause I like the Mellow Paly's better... And I don't want to frag them and slow down their growth... lol
