This is very strange. I bought some fishes, all of them are coming from a dealer which get his stuff from a warehouse that is certified by MAC. I got somes fishes, all of them started eating well, stayed in the tank for more than a month, and eating well and no disease. Two days ago, my fish started eating less, the next day, he was having some ick and today, he is about to go away. The same thing happened to me with another fish a month ago, he was doing fine, the next day, he was starting to breath a lot and the next day, he died. What kind of disease or problem is that?

I know its to late to save my fish, but i would like to know what is the problem and if there is a way to safe them if it ever occured again.

I started adding guarlic in the food today, hoping it could give them a stronger immune.

Thanks a lot!

Cryptocaryin irritans. It has a definite lifecycle which can take several days to a few weeks to "show itself" and kill off your fish. Suggest you perform a search for this ailment and read up. Too much to place in a post. MAC certification only refers to the fact that they humanely collect the fish and follow certain shipping procedures. Mac certification does not mean that they properly QT (quarantine) the fish and institute parasite and disease prevention techniques. You really need to QT all new fish before addition to a display aquarium. In this way, you can see these issues and treat the fish to get rid of them before they infest you reef....where all the treatments are not conducive. Good luck.
