*healthy* Flame Angel ???

My beautiful, and apparently healthy, Flame Angel of 2 1/2 years has for probably 2 years had a dusting of what looks like he stuck his snout in powdered sugar. Other than that, he's active, apparently healthy, a good eater-heavy bodied, curious and up front when you approach the tank, not aggressive or territorial, everything I think a good aquarium fish should be. Not to mention how great Flames are to look at!

We have good water quality with less than 5 or 10 ppm Nitrate (those damn shades of light pink all look alike), 1.023, 8.3 pH, 12 or so KH and my fish greedily accept a varied diet of flake and frozen. I change about 11 gallons of water a week on a 72 gallon tank with RO-DI and Instant Ocean.

So what's up with Flame? Am I missing a diet element? Do I really need to do vitamins with a variety of mixed foods that I try to keep fresh and discard once they seem approaching their prime?

Since this is a long term condition and is not spread to others, I have discarded velvet, cryptocarion and I have just tried a fungus remedy (Rid-Fungus from Kordon) and I am at the point where as long as he appears OK in almost all regards, that I will just ignore a little face powder.

Not related since Flame has been like this so long, but I am now going to FOWLR and hopefully soon to start with some corals and inverts. But, I'm a little hesitant to embark on this if Flame will cause problems down the road.

Any suggestions?
