heard of this local store?

i was just browsing around ebay and looking at a blue maxima clam and i noticed the dealer said they were from pittsburgh pa. the site said they have 2500 gallons of marine livestock??? ive never heard of this store, has anyone been to gary linder atlantis pets inc/ atlantis custom aquariums? there ebay name is marinecoral. store is located @ 4724 clarton blvd pittsburgh pa.

if so is it any good?

Stay away!!!! Thats Gary at Atlantis. Has no prices on anything....so.....he will charge you more if he dosent like you. I have worked with him in the past.....not a good person.

i did run into that with him threw ebay the bionic was one price (buy it now auction) but if i picked it up it was 10 bucks more and shipping was 10 bucks so i had him ship why drive and save no money

thats a bummer! any info on what the store is actually like. i can deal with unruley people if the store is nice enough... i have been looking for a nice blue maxima clam..hm..

The 2 times I was there, I found the coral selection very unimpressive. It was not nearly as good as almost any of the other major shops in the area.

They did have a few unique things, but the owner wasn't there and the stand in had no idea for the prices, so she was not able to help.

That would be his mother. She lives on the top floor of the "store". He has made alot of enemies in the trade, as I found out at MACNA while I was helping him. He used my lights, pump and I built the whole frag system, what did I get nothing....not even a thanks! What I did get was crap from him, since I bought stuff from DrMac, who he thinks is a bad person.....My mind was really opened as to how some of the aquarium trade is, DrMac is a good guy.....Gary....not so much.

At least 3 times he told me vendors stopped talking to him...now I know why.

The only reason the store is open is because of online sales and some service he does....

And if he doent like you (dont spend enough money) he will blow you off.....seen it done over and over.

Aquaworld has some nice clams in stock.

aquaworld just got in some blue maximas from ORA. i think they are around 60 bucks. they also have some nice tear drops too for 40, not sure if those are crocea or maximas though.

i was just there this weekend....oh and they just got in a HUGE selection of yumas!!!!! cheap too, i got two pinks for 15 each!!

I've been to Gary's place a few times in the past. When I was looking to spend five or six hundred, he was my best friend. If I needed a particular piece of equipment or saw an interesting specimen, I was taking it up the wazoo....

If he's not there, you have to put up with his mother and her trying to get him on the phone to get prices and whatnot....

If travelling to the western PA area, I would definitely hit Aquaworld or WetPets before going to Atlantis. Seems like Gary is only in the business for his friends (people with money who just don't know of any good shops) and isn't interested in growing his customer list....
