Heart Guard as Red Bug Treatment

I know that interceptor works for red bugs, but would heart guard work just as well since it has the same active ingredient? TIA

Yes, if it is the same ingredient, should be the same? What about the fillers in the heart guard? What else is in it?

Milbemycin oxime is in interceptor & ivermectin is in heartgard plus.
i'm clueless if they are related though.

They two active ingredients are very different as stated above by Mr. Pluto. Whether or not the active ingredients have the same effects on red bugs is unknown to me, but I think that you would have seen many threads on it, since interceptor requires a vets prescription, while heartguard is a little easier to get.

Heartgard also requires a prescription to get. They are both medications that prevent Heartworm Disease in dogs & cats, but can only be purchased with a prescription once the pet is tested negative for Heartworm.
