I am wondering just how much heat the following lighting setups may add to my tank. My tank is a 29 gallon with a 10 gallon sump.
I am aiming to keep the tank around 72-74*F.
About how many degrees would each add to the system?
1. a 150 watt mh 10 K bulb
2. a 175 watt mh 10K bulb
3. 96 watts of T5 (4 24 watt bulbs) 10K bulbs
note: the lights will be enclosed in a hood (yet to be built) the hood will depend on the type of light, the metal halides will be around 8-10 inches from the surface of the water and the T5s maybe 2-5(not really sure). I am also expecting to have to run some fans in the hood.
One more question: Does anyone know what the difference in light intensity there would be between the 150 mh and the T5? How many t5 bulbs of this length would be required to equal the 150 mh?
