heater for a 180gal

I'm looking for a heater for my 180. I did a search and came up with many diffrent answers. alot of stuff I dont understand. some people were recommending titanium, some people said they are no good...........I also read that you need to run a controller on some of the heaters. If so, I just bought an AC JR. will that work? thanks

Your AC jr should run a heater no problem. The biggest flaw with most heaters is that the cheap thermostats dont work properly. By using a controller you will eliminate the weakest link in the chain.

I personally would buy a couple smaller heaters instead of one large one. IE... a couple 200 waters versus one 500. This will ensure that if one fails, either on or off, you will have some buffer.
