Heater for an 8 gallon

Anyone? I really need to get some type of heater in there, during the day it stays at the right temp, but as soon as night comes it gets between 65-68* F.

Some of the other brands of 50 watt heaters say 5-10 gallons, and some say 15-20 for a 50 watt heater.

Does anyone know why? Is it just marketing to get people to buy more? If so, a 50 watt should be fine in an 8 gallon correct?

50w would be fine. I don't mind the Aqueon Pro heaters (used them in one of my old setups) but I would go with the 50w Eheim Jager heater if possible.

Cant get my hands on that one. So far out of all the heaters my store sells, the aqueon one is the one that works the best for me. Ill pick one up tomorrow when I go in, I had to call out the last few days, Ive thrown out my back.

I'm running an 8g and have the 50w pre-set one in it (only one that would fit in the back. I didn't want it in the display) and it keeps it constantly at 78.

The problem with the pre-set ones is that they only raise the temp 6-8 degrees, higher than room temp. My room gets way to cold at night to use the preset ones, that and I don't want it at 78* I want it about 75*
