heater question/comments

Are there any 100w heaters out there (under fifty bucks) that have a true thermostat in them where if the temp goes below a certain degree it turns on (in a way that the degrees are shown on a knob, dial, or meter of some kind)? Or do you just need to mess with them to find where your heater works best.

I bought a hydor heater and it has the degrees on the knob but I had to set it ten degrees below actual temp (two thermometers in the tank) to get it to turn off and regulate. I called the hydor company and they said that this was normal because I was on the lower end of the heater's rating. grrrr Why put temperature graduates on them if they don't mean anything???!! very misleading.

What do you think?

SPEAKING OF HEATERS

I have a 12G JBJ Nanocube. I don't have any idea what wattage of heater I need. I have been told 50 is too much, and 25 is too little. Anyone know where I can get a 38 watt? Kidding!

But seriously, I need some suggestions from you 12G JBJ Nano professionals.

Jim
