Where is the best placement for the heater temp. probes? I have dual titanium heaters for a 120g tank, 90g sump, and a 30g refugium.

Is just hanging them in the sump the best location?

Thx. in advance.

That's what most do. While the actual temp may vary slightly among your 3 containers, it's not going to be significant (assuming adequate flow through all 3).

Monitor your sump, keep your temp stable there, and it's a safe assumption your temps will be stable throughout your system. Stability is much more important than a specific # (assuming you pick a number somewhere between 77-83 or so....)

The sump or refugium are good so you don't have the probe in the display. Just make sure it is not sitting right next to one of your heaters. You could also put one in your sump & one in your fuge.

Well I was worried about putting one probe in a separate location than the other, on account it may cause one heater to run significantly more than the other. But I think I will place both probes in the drain compartment of my sump (1), and place the heaters in the return compartment (3)(where the return pump draws from)
