I'm running two of the Finnex compact titatium heaters, no complaints so far. Although, my next purchase will be a ranco controller. That is pretty cheap piece of mind.
Herpervet: From what I hear the new Ebo's are not the same quality as the old ones and some have problems. I think they "may" have been bought out or something. Many people run 2-3 small heaters so that if ones sticks on it won't fry your tank. This way you could go with your Ebo's and not have to worry about a controller.
Ebo's are out of the question due to clutter issues. I need to heat about 1200 gallons of water in one system and 300 in another. I can use them in the quarantine tank though.
I think I will buy a Ranco controller for both larger systems and be done with it.
It sounds like they are one of the best on the market.
i use 2X200W ebu jager and i love them. would never use anything else. i also have a 92. just have to be careful not to break them while messing around in sump. i never(knock on wood) had a problem. only thing is the set temp on them is not what actual water temp is. that's what digital thermometer is for though.
