Heaters

Ok so I'm trying to look for something that will fit in the sump which is a 20gal long. The chamber is 10"x12"x8 1/2". I was looking to put two heaters in. What's a good brand and what type works best?

:hammer:

Many, if not most, will recommend the Eheim ebo jager heaters. They are very reliable and last a long time. They can also be easily recalibrated if the temp the heater is holding at doesn't match the heater's dial. They are a little larger than many other heaters and a little more expensive, but well worth it.

Should I be getting two heaters rated for the total water I need to heat or do I 1/2 that? I will have 80gal total so would I get two heaters rated for 40gal or two heaters rated for 80gal?

get to heaters both rated for half or slightly more... I would hook them up to a heater controller such as a ranco to ensure no problems

I use these, ViaAqua Titanium Aquarium Heater, you'd be good with 2 200 watt. Not expensive, have their own controller, and I've never had one fail yet.

I was checking these out one of the things that scares me is I read these things can melt acrylic. I'm up in the air as to which sump to put this in. My main sump is only 8" deep. I have a 2nd sump that's much deeper but it's made out of acrylic.
