Hi,

I need assitance heating my 180 gallon with 100 gallon sump/refuge. I plan on purchasing the Finnex Titanium heater with controller. The 800Watt is recommended, however should I use two of the smaller heaters, one in sump and one in overflow of tank? If so which should I go with: 2 of the 400W or will this overheat the tank?

Hi Jason,

I would recommend doing two of the 300W heaters for that application. If the tank is in an area that gets pretty cool then maybe two of the 500's, however that would be overkill for a setup that is in an average climate controlled area.

Thanks,
Jeremy

The tank is in my basement, which during the winter is chilly--at leat 10 degrees cooler than first floor. I was looking at 2- 300W and a separate controller, either a neptune or digital aquatics set up. Thanks.

In addition I have made several recent purchases and Premium Aquatics has been great. Keep up the awesome service.

We actually still have our RC Group Buy going for the Aquacontroller, Jr. if you want to go that route. If you have any questions please let us know.

Thank you for your continued support, we greatly appreciate it!
