Helfrichi Firefish - Nice or mean ?

I have never had a firefish before. Was womndering if they are aggressive or very territorial ... Wanted to add one to my 180, with some small clowns,chromis and cardnials, couple tangs. Was wondering if they get along with everyone ? And would they get along with a normal firefish also ? And are they jumpers ? Nice fish, just want to know a little before I get one.

Docile, peaceful (except to other firefish of the same gender), known jumpers, and a bit timid. They can be bullied by more aggressive fish. They are a very nice addition to a peaceful tank and quite beautiful.

I added a purple firefish about a month ago and he is geourgeous. Him, my picasso clown and my tailspot blenny all get along tremendously. He has his hole down under my lr and that's what's known as his dart hole and everyone leaves him alone. Very docile and will come out during the day and sleep in his hole at night. I love this guy he is soo pretty! Yes they are jumpers so a tight lid is a MUST. I also read that they can be agressive to other firefish but they have them in a big tank at my LFS and they all school together just fine!

Im glad they are peaceful...just need to get some screen or glass tops lol Or finish my canopy soon and screen in the back . They are nice looking fish !

I don't know why no one noticed this but his tank has tangs and is a 180. Usually firefish are very timid and docile. In a large tank like yours it might get lost. And with tangs swimming around all over the place it might get scared to the point it just hides all day. Just some thought and something that could definitely happen... Don't want to spend the money and have them hide forever. And in terms of keeping them with other firefish, I would say no. They end up killing each other over a length of time. I've seen it happen and I've read that others had the same experience as well.

Should spend that money on something more outgoing, maybe a midas blenny.

Okay. I will defineatly think about another fish. I just have a little hippo,sailfin, kole and yellow as of now. Nothing huge, but your right, he might get scared, so i might reconsider lol never thought about that... OOORRRRR... ill just put him in my forty breeder
