i have a 10g nano and am planning on getting a helfrichi's firefish, the tank has no fish right now and the helfrichi wouldl be the first resident of the tank, but i would like to add another or a couple more fish if i can and i need suggestions pls on what type of fish i can put him with, thanks

Since your doing rare stuff...we just got my friend a flaming prawn goby to go in his 24G nano with his pair of helfrichi's...so far its been hiding in the rock work but its a pretty cool TINY fish! Not sure what else he is gonna get for it...but it is a pretty cool little tank!
Harlequin shrimp do much better in pairs and require a live star fish to eat every month or so. A pair of shrimp gobies and a pistol shrimp (or pair) would be rather interesting. I would think that what Bret61081's suggestion is excellent.
Anthias really require a larger tank to be happy and prefer shoaling behavior.
Neon gobies are pretty but do best in a situation with cleaning behavior as that is the natural state.

whoa...okay good, you decided not to go with an anthias lol....you realize the feeding situation with the harlequins right? just curious, how much are you paying for your helfrichi?

Thats the one he just got! My LFS thoguht it got lost in the tank last month, but we finally found it this week. If you are looking for something small that sifts the sand you might want to look in to a Court Jester Goby. They pick at the sand and will help keep it moving. If it were me(and I had the $$) Id stick with different stuff you dont see everyday. Thats what my friend is in to and his tank looks awesome! Good luck and post some pick when you get it done
