Hey everyone im back, not even sure if any of you remember me, but I am back after about a 6 month absence. Ive been real busy with a new job and car and to be honest my tank has been slipping, but in a couple weeks I will be able to start dumping money back into the tanks like the old days. A couple questions though, MY 96 watt power quad on my 10 gallon needs new bulbs but I really want to go to MH. What would be the most cost effective way to do this. Ive seen the clip on MH for the nano cube and I think that might work for my tank but I dont know, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them. Also, I had my 55 running with salt water but it is just a giant nitrate farm now, im thinking I will just wait until I can go buy a couple bags of live sand and just start the tank over. Its gonna be a FOWLR until I feel like spending around 500 dollars on new lights for it. Thats really it for now.
Thanks,
Dave

Hey, welcome back.

There are diy MH setups which are very affordable. hopefully, someone will chime in on info for it.

IMO a MH setup on a 10G is a little too much.. if you are going to do it, a retro is the way to go.. a clip on is gonna cost twice the amount and IMO be sub par to a retro setup.. why not just do 2 24W T5HO?? less heat, less evaporation, same intensity, probably very similar if not better for a 10G tank..

also 70W HQI, not worth to buy fot it, what will you use it for if youupgrade??
150W HQI same as above..
175W SE 250SE(both very comparable, just about the same) too much, also the heat(and evaporation) it will put out..this is all IMO
