Hello Again

Hello everybody,
I am hoping to make myself a little more visible once again. My wife and I went to Ukraine in September to adopt three teenagers, and were there two months. While we were gone the house was well taken care of by a wonderful young lady but my reef tanks suffered. After getting back and having a rough period of adjustment, I find myself in a position to get things going again in the right direction.

Luckily two of the kids are very interested in the tanks, but the third, and most disturbed child, is not. I am hoping that if we get things looking better again she will get involved and it will help her to integrate into the family.

Also, as part of her treatment we have to take her to Decatur almost every week. So if anyone can clue me in to a good shop in that area that would be much appreciated.(How far from the Beltway is John Newby?)

It is good to be back and hello to old friends and I look forward to meeting new.

Hi David,

It's good to have you back. I wish all the luck in the world for you and your family.

John's store is about 15 to 20 minutes away from the northern end of Beltline. It's worth a visit for sure. He is open only from Thursday to Sunday in the afternoon, though.

The salt water section of Petco in Decatur, which is located along Beltline, is not bad. They don't have much corals but their fish are usually in good shape. The manager there seems to be conscientious and knowledgeable.

Thanks so much, we drive right by it. The one in Birmingham is sketchy at best. I will drop in soon! I knew you would be the first to chime in, and it is always good to hear from you!

Hey buddy. Congrats on the adoptions! We kept foster children for years and adoped one. Very rewarding, but challenging!
Good luck getting those tanks back in shape.

Congratulations and Welcome. If you are in Birmingham, Aquarium Designs in Hwy 31 near Pelham is nice and there is a nice place in Alabaster. The best is CRA in Athens, John is a great guy and has a nice selection.
