Hello from S.V.

I had no idea there was a Tucson/S.V. reef club!

Just thought I'd take a sec to introduce myself... I'm a newish reefer living down in Sierra Vista. My tank's been up about a year, but I was deployed for 7 months of that time and my wife took care of the tank. She did a pretty good job, but now that I'm back I'm trying to get everything back into tip-top shape.

My tank is an RSM 130D (34g Nano cube). It's a mixed reef, but I've had difficulty keeping my LPS thriving in the past. Everything is doing well now, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

My tank (try to ignore the water marks on the glass):

A friend of mine gave me that plating monti a few days ago because he was shutting down his tank. I'm not sure that my tank can support it, so if there's anyone in S.V. who wants to nurse it back to health (it's slowly fading), I might be willing to part with it in a week or two if it continues to decline.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi... nice to know there's so many other reefers in the area.

Welcome marc,
I wouldn't call us a club really but just a bunch of people that get together once in a while. This forum is pretty laid back. Be sure to post a pic in the Getting to know Tucson reefers page. I'll bump it up to the top for you. Hope to see you at the auction on Sunday.

It's doing really well actually... I did some major maintenance a week ago including a 75% water change and some modifications to my skimmer. I started dosing some Prodibio products too... Overall the corals are looking better than ever and that monti is recovering pretty quickly. Unless it suffers a setback it should be completely colored up again within a week or two.

Are you who I think you are?
