Hello, I'm new to the club

Hello everyone, I just thought I'd introduce myself. I just joined and am a friend of Zac (zmazza on here). I've been keeping fish for about 23 years now, but most of that time has been spent on freshwater fish. It wasn't until my wife convinced me to get a FOWLR setup a few years ago that I started keeping marine tanks. I finally got into keeping corals (Xenia) after a trip to the coral reef LFS and seeing their prices on frags ($20). As far as experience and research goes, I would still categorize myself as a beginner with reguard reefkeeping though. So anyway, that's where I'm at.

Right now I just have one 29g tank going (with one ocellaris clown, one yellowtail damsel, a pencil urchin, and some oddballs)... this next christmas I will in all likelyhood finally get my 120g display tank though. Although it will probably take me like 6 months or more to get it installed and set up. After that the 29g will become a hospital tank. Anyway, it's nice to meet you all, and I look forward to meeting you all at the next meeting.

Hi SgtMaj, (is that what you'd like us to call you?)

Welcome to RC and ETRC, we'll let one of the other guys throw out that fancy welcome thing.

It seems we followed the same path to this SW hobby. I did FW for 20 yrs, and decided to take the SW plung about 3 years ago.

Best of luck on your 120. Let us know if you have any questions and come to some of the meetings to see our set-ups before you make your decissions on how you'd like to do it.

yeah, I've got a lot of planning ahead of me... I will definately appreciate learning from all of you before making my final decisions for the 120 show tank....

[welcome]

Hey Ben, feel free to stop by with Zac this weekend if you like... Welcome to the Club!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if Zac will be going or not, since his wife is so pregnant, and now overdue. Otherwise I was planning to, and will if he does make the trip up there. :-)

I'm not so sure Ben could make it on Saturday. With my wife being so close to having the baby... her due date is today... I've been excused from the conference. I planned on meeting up with Matt SOMETIME this weekend, and had originally planned on meeting up after the conference, but in light of recent discoveries, my wife and I are planning on taking a short trip to Knoxville on Saturday to pick up my clownfish and then heading back home. Depending on whether or not we meet up with you in Knoxville, we may be heading home through Oak Ridge.

Provided we don't end up at the hospital having a baby first. :D

I hope the baby comes for her sake... lol I just saw my friend that is due April 18th and she's HUGE!!!!!! I felt bad for her... She's kinda miserable... And still horse training to boot!!!!! :D Crazy girls...

Hmm... that would have been interesting... Haha!

Not meaning to sound offensive... but you look HUGE! :D :lolspin:

Heh. I had a friend who looked full term on her 4th kid when she was about 4 months into the pregnancy. People would come up and pat her belly and say "My, you must be due anyday now." She finally started responding with "What do you mean? I'm not pregnant" -- followed by a cold stare and a colder silence under which the offender would mutter a quick goodbye and beat a quick retreat.

Don't mess with pregnant women. :)

Randy...I sincerely hope you didn't tell her she looked HUGE.

OF COURSE I DID!!!!!!! You guys know me better than that... I said she looked like she has to be having twins... And that she'd better hurry up and have this one, or she's not coming to the Wedding... I gave her an April 1st deadline... lol

Ben~ You have now become a victim of the notorious ETRC thread hijack... lol Get used to it... :uzi:

lol, it's cool, threads go where they go, just like conversations.

If you're comming up tomorrow Zac, I'll just go with you, just let me know.

Heh, My wife just had our first child 3 weeks ago, she wasn't due yet, but he came out at 10lbs 2.2oz... I called her a blimp... fortuneately even durring pregnancy she kept her sense of humor, but I still kept the knives out of reach. :-)

Lol! No kidding. They might have a great sense of humor one minute, but...

Sounds good Ben. I'll be meeting up with Matt in West Knoxville. Want to meet me at The Aquarium or at the store on KP?
