I have some fluffy algea in my thank that looks like red cotton balls and stick on the rocks.

If I scrub the rocks, but they return after 2 weeks.

Anyone knows what type of algea and how to get rid of them?

My waterparameters are normal
No nitrates, no phosfates

Thaks in advance

There is an additive, red algae (I think it's called red slime remover), and it works excellent. I have not used it myself, but a friend used it on his 180 gallon sps tank, and it practically worked overnight!!

I had a very bad case of red cotton ball algae on some Kaelini liverock a year or so ago. I bought the large Mexican Turbo Snails and they munched it all down.

Hey dominique_c70,

I believe that is the sporophyte of Asparagopsis. I agree with Nanook. Keep your water clean like it is and get some Turbo snails :). I think Abalones really like it too if you are looking for a big, cool mollusc.

HTH,
Kevin
