Anyone ever delt with a sting from anemone to your self

Girlfriend was Moving our Long Tenacle Anemone and it stung the Crap out of her arm

Anyone know what we should do

Here are a few first aid tips if you suffer a jellyfish sting. Handle a sea anemone or coral sting the same way.

Rinse the sting area thoroughly with saltwater. Don't use fresh water! Why? Fresh water will activate any stinging cells that haven't already ruptured, causing more painful stings. Be careful not to rub the area, which can also rupture the nematocysts, causing more stinging.

Next, apply a liberal dose of white vinegar to the sting area as soon after the sting occurs as possible. It probably won't do much for the pain, but it will stop any unfired nematocysts from discharging and stinging you more.

Remove any tentacles that are still attached to the skin. Don't touch the tentacles with your bare hands. Use a clean cloth or towel.

If there's localized swelling, tenderness or itching, an over-the-counter antihistamine like Benadryl
will help. Hydrocortisone cream reduces swelling. Take acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen for pain.

we washed of with salt water
then something on the web said to use a flour saltwater mix to make a past to remove any stinging sells
then we washed off with some rubbing achol

took some Benadryl
and Ibporfine for pain

so we will see how it goes

thanks for the help and fast replys

You can also try meat tenderizer. And I have also heard about the idea of peeing on it but never tried that!

+1 on this one. Keep a bottle of MSG around for the next time someone gets stung.

Nems generally don't have a powerful sting. I have handled my RBTA's numerous times bare handed and don't get stung at all. But then of course everyon'e tolerance level is different.

Yea she hAd handled them before with no problem and then last night it stung her and then I finished doing what we were doing and I had no problem
