Good or Bad

Good or Bad

Did a little change for him today, not sure if it was a good plan. Just figured he was going to be injured for a while might as well make him at home. He is not under the halides so he should be fine i hope.

I like the nice little set up you have for your anemone. The lta looks like it will get plenty of light. I see your clown in the second picture. Hopefully your clown won't find a way to get in. How is the lta doing today? Does it seem happy with its new home? As in, is it trying to attach and expand? Keep us updated.

He is great accually. He is not attaching yet but is sticky feeling and stretching out, mouth is starting to grow back a little. Gave him a couple of shots of pro iodine. Seemed to help a lot.

I Just got my clown out the tank. Put him in a holding spot seperate from display.

Now that i have him back in display he can relax and hopefully get strong agine. Any ideas, his mouth is still open not closed. But his mouth was torn a little, so can't complain he is still alive. He does not like the light a lot at night he fills up and looks good. Can not feed him b/c his mouth is open, but can i soak shrimp in selcon and just put it in his mouth so mabay some good stuff will mabay get in him some. I just don't want my clown in the jail cell for months while anemone is recovering.

That is a hard call, I will let the experts chime in on this one. Forced feeding is dangerous and risky, but it sometimes is the only way to keep them alive. I would take the advice of one of the experts here on RC.

same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago all i did is seperate it like how you have yours in a tool box and kep my water quality good and tried feeding it (it never ate but its still doing well)and it healed quite nicely in matters of weeks(my damage was a worst than yours if it makes you feel better)

Never force feed an anemone. If its ready, it will 'take' the food using its sticky tenticles and feed itself. If not, it will simply let the food drop. Your obviously on the right road for recovery, I would adopt the 'if it ain't broke' attitude for the time being. Can offer it a piece of silverside (chop it into 3rds) and see if it will take it, but never force try to force anything into its mouth, thats just bad mojo.

I have to agree, don't force feed. It has been through a lot, it will eat when it is ready. I am very glad you posted an update, good to hear it's still hanging in there. You placed him back in the display, that's good he will be more comfortable in a more natural setting. It's been one month since the accident, I think he is well on his way to recovery. I don't think it looks bleached so I'd keep him in the same lighting you have him in. You've done a great job, keep it up. : )
