well the little guy is coming down with ick. He's in a reeftank and I have been having a hugh nitrate spike that I am working on. I am adding kent marine garlic thing to all feeding. So anyone know of anything else to so? I know it will be impossable to get him out. Also my neon gobie is all over him as well he will sometime go by the cleaner shrimps. Any ideas besides taking him out?

Keep soaking the food (nori, mysis, brine etc) always worked for me! You can try adding a cleaner shrimp as well.

Taking him out and putting him in a QT is the only cure.

lol, no.

keep doing what you're doing (soaking, shrimps, goby.). if you want to run med in a reef. "kick-Ich" works, but it takes longer than what it says on the bottle and its expensive.

ok great so atleast i know I am going in the right dirrection. It's the garlic extream, and I have 2 cleaner shrimps and 1 neon gobie on him. I hope he is ok. I have also been doing water changes about every 2-3 days. 10 gallons out of an 80 gal with 110+- 5 pounds of rock. Also a grip of corals. So I really do not want to use any chemicals of any sort. Thanks for the input so just do what I am doing right?

kick-ich is totally reef safe. thats the only one ive had good result with in a reef.

otherwise, just keep him on a good diet and stay on top of the water quality and you should be fine.

take him out and either return him to the lfs or sell him. your tank is not even close to being big enough for that or any tang. not to start anything but thats the best advice I can give you.

Well you started it. 80 gallons is enough for a single tang. I guess in my 175 I should not have the purple, poweder brown, powder blue and achilles together. They school, Tang Police stink.

ORLY?

This coming from the 500 gallon guy. I think that a brown tang will be fine in an 80 gallon thank. Quit your huge tank snobbery.
