Help attaching leather

I have a small leather coral that was doing well and growing, so we decided to move it to a larger rock. Since removing it from its original rock it has been producing a slime which is preventing the glue from taking hold. I have attached it to another rock (literally) 5 or 6 times, and every time an hour or two later it is floating around unattached.

Any tips on how to get this thing firmly held in place?

Thanks

Leathers are tough to glue, as you've seen. They just slough it off.

A toothpick can be shoved through the coral, then wedged into the rock. You could also place it in a bowl with some rubble. Once it attaches to that, glue the rubble where you want the coral. Seems like I've heard of people having success with a needle and thread too.
