Need help with Rock Flower Anemone

Damn that’s a beautiful tank! I hope to have mine looking that good one day!!
Lol that's very nice of you, I'm never happy with it and I finally have my wife agreeing this tank needs a lot more rock 😂😂

Been slowly building this one for about two years I think.

None of us are ever happy, that’s why we gravitate to this hobby. We can constantly tweak things😂🤣

Hahah that’s funny. It’s stayed in the same spot and was doing great but something has happened over the last few days! It’s shriveling up , its colors are still pretty. It’s just not opening up as much anymore

I have two rock flowers which I am trying to habituate them to the cups shown in the photo. I read that anemones prefer PAR of 200-300. In the cups, I get pretty close to that range. At the bottom of the tank in the sand the PAR is only 50 or so. I understand the rationale here to let them go where they want but isn’t the lower PAR an issue? Any thoughts on the cups or should I take them out and place them in the sand?

I posted this photo asking questions about placement of anemones in my tank. But now don’t see it. I am trying to get them to grow in those cups. Any thoughts? Should I just “allow” them to be in the sand making sure they have the PAR they prefer?

Rock anemones prefer to bury their base in the substrate. So, IME, placing then in the cups, regardless of location, they will likely move on their own. While these anemones do use photosynthesis, tend to prefer being fed. I always fed mine chunks of fish, shirmp, etc.

Thank you. One seems to be doing well, the other maybe not. They are maybe a little too difficult an “art” for this beginner! Not sure I am getting ahead of the film algae. I cleaned the grass two days ago and added Brightwell’s MicroBacter. It isn’t too bad yet but could clean again today. Phosphate was 0.03 and Nitrate 2.2 on Jan. 31. The Phosphate is probably locked up in the algae.

I don't think you're getting ahead with these. These are some of the hardiest and easiest to keep anemones IME.

Any opinions about what this rock flower anemone is up to. It has been moving around and looked ok. Now it seems to have flipped itself upside down?
