I posted this in my local forum, but figured this would help me reach a broader audience. All params are normal and all other corals, including SPS are thriving with good color and polyp extension.

Did you dip it before you added it? If so, i would slide it under one of these rock caves. The green ones seem to tolerate light buf the darker reds and purples seem to like very low light. Cutting it should be a last resort IMO.

I did not dip it prior to adding. I had it in another tank for a few months before moving it to the display tank. There wet who issues prior to the sting.

Should I dip it now? If so, in what?

How old is the tank? It looks pretty new. What are the tank parameters?

It looks like an infection started. You'll need to dip and probably cut slightly into the healthy tissue. I'd use CoralRx.

You can dip it in just about any dip but if you think it is an infection, an iodine dip (lugols) would ve my suggestion.

How much light do you have on it? Mine hate being blasted with light.

I have it on the floor of a 24 inch tall tank with an 8 bulb ATI fixture suspended 22 inches above the water line. The left side of the coral looks great. It's the right side that has been progressively bleaching and receding since the sting from the bubble gum chalice.
