Help Birdsnest branch bleached...

So my birds nest coral has a branch piece that has turned white over night. It sits pretty high in the tank so I'm thinking the light may have caused this (AI Sol LEDs at 40-80% over 8 hours a day). The other culprit is I have a flame angel that nips at this coral from time to time.

As for the bleached branch, should I cut the bleached section or is there a possibility this branch can return to color if some of the top items are corrected?

Birds Nests turn white at the tips when growing. I don't believe it would turn white if it is being nipped at, polyps just wouldn't extend. Post a pic so one of us can help you out better.

Here is a rough pic taken with my iPad

I really don't know. How is your flow through the BN. When they intertwine like it is, I have heard that is when problems occur. I had some alk flucuations for a few days and my BN started looking a litlle like that.

It doesn't seem to be dead,, but being that it is on the lower side of the birds nest, it could just be white and with the angel nipping, you may just see it now.

Hopefully someone else may be able to help.

that does not look like birdsnest, but regardless, its such a large piece, just snip the white branch off. it is unlikely to grow tissue again, and more likely to spread further down.
