Help! Bully flame angel / victim mystery wrasse

Mystery wrasses are my favorite fish... by FAR. However, my previous one quit eating and wasted away. He was a little tiny and I didn't really notice anything until he got really skinny. I think it was because he was bullied by my flame angel.

Hence, I tried again, this time getting an XL mystery wrasse. They've been together a few weeks, and again, the flame angel is bullying the mystery wrasse. It's not terrible, just chasing every now and then. However, this mystery wrasse is beginning to spit out his food... which has me suppper worried.

What can I do? I HATE this flame angel. Everyone says they are compatible, but that hasn't been my experience at all.

This doesn't seem to be an uncommon problem... here are just a few other links with people with flame angels bullying purplish wrasses: here, here, and here.

When researching compatibility between these two fish, there isn't even a "with caution" warning. It's a shame, but I feel like a lot of the behavior recommendations on reef fish came from a few guys back when this hobby was much smaller. They got it right for the most part, but there are still a lot of things that should probably be changed.

Flame Angels are king of there tank, pick which fish you want? Best thing is to add the wrasse and go buy a baby flame to add later
