HELP! CBB very ill

My CBB has black scales and is breathing very fast. He is on his side. What can I do to help him?

I am not sure what is going on, but it could be brook. Given the fact that the fish is already laying on its side, I think that it won't even have a week live

I also don't know why the fish's scales have turned black.

Usually when a fish lays on its side, it will die within 24 hours. Sometimes however, they can live up to one week. What you could have done to give your fish a pain-free death was put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer. The fish will not feel a thing...it will sleep in the bag and eventually freeze to death...painlessly of course.
