Help Cleaning Tank

OK.. Here is one I can't figure out. What can I keep in my mantis tank that will eat detritus, and stir the sand bed that my mantis wont kill?

The other thing is my mantis tank is plumbed into my main reef, so it can't be anything that could get into my reef and destroy it.

I have tried hermits, and snails, and they last about 30 secs. I had one last about 5 mins once because I added in several at a time.

I have a N. Wennerae if that helps.

Any help would be appreciated.

Number of mantis hermit, or snails?

Mantis - 2 (I dont reccomend it)
Snails - 10ish in mantis tank
hermits - 10ish in mantis tank

Big turbo snails are what you need, like golf ball sized. I don't know if its a case of too thic a shell or if the mantis just realizes there is no way its going to eat it all. Also you can try a bunck of Nassarius snaisl to stir the sand.

My Platysoma won't mess with bigger (1/2" ish) hermits unless he's really hungry, and won't mess with astrea snails for some reason. I know it's not because they're too hard, because he knocked the entire face out of his ex-room mate Sumo the Sponge crab.
