This happened overnight. He was fine thursday and friday morning I woke up and found hes got black spots. My water quality is ammonia-0, nitrites-0, nitrates-0, salt-1.023, PH 8.2. I change water weekly with RO/DI water. He is very active with my blue/green chromis and he eats pellet food and meaty foods soaked in garlic. He is still swimming around actively. He has not scraped the walls or rocks. I only have 3 fish 2 (chromis) and him (clown fish) They have been in the tank for 1.3 years. I got lots of zoo's, xzenia, polyp, 1 torch coral, 1 Clam, and Kenya tree's. My tank is 30gallons with 250w HQI lighting and I clean out my filters/equipment when I do water changes. What could this be?

Thanks

Do the spots look like pepper grains or blotchy patches? It could be a bacterial infection. If it continues to spread remove fish to a sick tank and treat with antibiotics.

Its really hard to tell what it looks like but its starting fade away. BTW its a Ocellaris Clownfish I got it at Petco. He still is very active. The bad thing is I dont have a QT tank. Ill keep and eye on it an reply back if it gets worse.

could it be melanism a sting from something. zoos perhaps.

if it is big black marks this is what it will be harmless.
