Help... Coral receding?

I have had this coral for a month now, and have seen some good growth already. But, in the last week, it has begun to turn white, and begin receding. Before anybody asks, my tank parameters have been consistent since this coral was introduced. It's been in the same spot in the tank for the last 3 weeks.

Only changes include

• A couple of new coral frags introduced after
• I reduced my lighting to help with a small cyano problem
• Skimmer went out last Sunday - Building my sump this weekend

Again, water parameters have not changed. I have read that a fresh water dip may help, is this something I should try?

It would be good to tell at least what kind of coral it is and the environment (lights, flow, etc). To be honest saying a coral has been in your water conditions for 3 weeks isn't saying much of anything when it comes to assessing why something is happening. Initial thought is you are bleaching it with too much light when you say it turned white but without a pic or even coral type that's impossible to determine.

Imo that's just about the time line that lps will react with unfavorable conditions. Bottom line is you need way more info posted including your parameters,coral type /name, lights, flow, filtration and age of system to rule out all the normal things that effect coral on most posts like this. A picture would also help imo. Is the tank new?

Tank is 5 months old.

ammonia - 0
Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - 0
Ph - 7.8
calcium - 420
Alkalinity - not measurable on test
Dont remember last magnesium reading from LFS but was within good range
salinity - 1.025

I have a wp10 and kroalia 425 for flow. D120 LED lighting fixture.


I will have to post a picture in a bit. It is a favia.

Any other information needed?
