HELP - Crab in acro

I just got back from the LFS where the owner gave me a Acrop Colonly that was dieing to frag off of. When i was fraging it i saw a Crab thats very Small maybe 1/4" wide should i keep it or disgard it.

Normally, I would say an Acrocrab, but that sure doesn't look like an acrocrab to me.

looks like a acrocrab to me. they are safe. the help keep the acro clean.

ok so i should be fine putting in the tank? i was just worried that since its was a dieing colony that it was a bad crab and maybe the reason it was dieing.

I'd say yes. I have a couple different varities in mines.

an acro crab with sharp pinchers? i dont know about that. it looks alot like a baby of the huge 4" coral eater i just pulled out of my tank.

Q-tine him with a frag, you should be able to tell within a day or so what he is.

That's what I thought when I saw the bulky, strong, and sharp pincers. The thread title would have automatically lead me to believe acro until I saw the pic. It is definitely a Xanthid crab by the shape of its shell though. I'm sure Acro Crabs come in all shapes, sizes, and especially color, but this is what I always recognized as an acro crab. Notice the differences in the pincers and the thickness of the body? The Acro Crab pictured below is very slim all the way around.

Fellow reefers called this an acro crab when I asked but I still have some damage down in that acro. Could be some other creature that I'm not seeing or maybe it's a mis-identification?
