Hmm I recently just had the same thing happen to my frag of sunset monti. It was in a high flow with lower light and the Alk around 8. I since then have moved it to mid tank level with little flow and uped my Alk to 9.5 with a goal od 10dkh. It has been improving in just the 2 days now. My polyps are coming back out and the orange is coming back.

Also, make sure you calcium is at least 440. I just bought some potassium to brighten up the stoney so I'm still waiting on the results of that too :)

Hope this helps!

Yes it does mine is med flow now and higher up, my cal is 460 and alk is at 10 so I'm just gonna see how this fares for me, hopefully it gets better I only got it for 5 so it won't be a huge loss but if it heals it will be a nice piece

cool, Ill post some pics of what mine looked like before and now after its coming back so you can see the issue I had with mine. Should be able to post them later tonight.

Just wanted to add that all of these pics were in the new location that I moved the monti that's why before and after are in the same place.

Yea I gotcha, ok well I'll keep mine where it is it looks happy It got damaged before I got it so I'll keep an eye on it, and I'll keep you posted

I had the exact same thing happen on my sunset, superman and rainbow monti's. I dunno what happened, I guess something was unhappy in the water. After a few water changes I guess the problem was fixed and the colors came back and the corals are not growing over the previous deadspots to the point you wouldn't know it happened. I with I had a picture of them when they were bad to show you how well they turned around.

Well I was talking to some other people they say it might have been sediment damage and just to keep the area blown off with a turkey blaster, so I'm gonna see what happens with that everything else in the tank is happy...
