[posted elsewhere, too] This is a bit complex...
Last week I thought my tang had stomach worms Now, looking like he was just eating chaeto--I pulled the chaeto a few days ago, stringiness is disappearing.
However, last week for about 2 days he had something on his mouth--best described as a cold sore--white, corner of mouth, approx. 25% of mouth, did NOT look fuzzy or like cotton (sorry--no pix). Then it went away-then it came back last night. Behavior is normal, eating is normal. Also, on his stomach under the pectoral fin he's turned a bit white, about 1/2 the size of a dime. It is NOT ick or any other parasite looking creature--just looks like pigment changed to white.
Here's the crappy part--I've been putting water from my display to my QT where I have a flame angel, almost 3 weeks, very healthy. Then 2 days ago I noticed the same thing on his lip, but worse--more prominent. And he's acting like a kissing ghourami, so I think it's uncomfortable for him. Still eating, but quite a bit less food.
I can't believe my QT fish got sick from my display water. Dammit!
Any ideas? My LFS was stumped, but suggested antibiotic on the flame angel in QT.
