HELP!! Fish Stuck!

As the title says i have a green chromis that somehow has found his way into the overflow on my tank (125 RR) so its a corner over flow, my question is how the %$#! do i get him out of there without shutting down my tank and redoing the plumbing??

I have captured several fish who have gotten into the over-flow. If you cannot fit a net down in there I would get yourself a large hose line (not garden hose) perhaps a 1" clear tubing you can buy at home depot. Create a siphon with one end in the overflow & the other in a bucket & basically suck him up using the tubing. After a few tries you'll see him slide down that tube like a water slide :lmao:
I would get some covers for those overflows or you'll have other fish in there soon. Good luck.

It involves a lot of luck. You basically have to find a net (like mentioned above) and "go fishing." I have had a clown see the net, and jump back into the main tank. And there were times where I have had to try on numerous occasions to finally get the fish out. They can actually live in the overflow for a very long time. Good luck!

ya i noticed they can live cause he went missing about 2 weeks ago, ive spent the majority of this week doing major maintenance on my tank sort of a spring cleaning, couldnt believe the colour of some of the water i pulled out then i noticed him in the overflow and see sentiment above
anyways this should be interesting because ive tried the net and as any fish would he just goes either deep or he just swims away from it lol
and with the pipes in there its a bit difficult to move the net around

Try the siphon.....it's works better & with a lot less stress of chasing the fish all around!!!!

I used a long thin net and my clip on sump light. Took about 10 min to catch the blue tang.

I heard u can take the pipe up and let him take a ride to your sump if possible. good luck catching him!

I've done this many times with my chromis, I think they enjoyed the ride to the basement.... After a while I just left them alone and they eventually found their way into the sump.
