Help! Frogspawn separating from skeleton

I grew this frogspawn from one head to almost eight heads. It has been doing great. Then this spring I got a gold hammer who eventually died of this skeleton separation disease. A month later my frogspawn began to loose its tissues at the rate of one head/ month. Currently it has three healthy heads left and one began to peel again. Is treatable? Is this a contageous disease brought in by the hammer? I also have duncan in there and they are doing alright though.

When my frogspawn or hammer has lost heads it's due to a spike in temp. Check to make sure you are not getting too much heat from your lights during summer months. You may need to change the lighting schedule or put a fan on with the AC keeping the room cool during the day. Do you have a controller to check your temp over time?

Thank you for your input Sheila. The tank is in the basement so the temp is relatively steady at 77F day and night. the LED lights are 8" over water surface with open top so temp has been rather steady.

Another question- Has any one noticed if water flow would do this? I do have quite a bit of flow in the tank and am afraid if there is such a thing as "too violent" of a flow for coral?

Low and fluctuating alk caused me problems in the past with hammers and torch. Since dosing and keeping the alk stable I haven't had any further problems. I'd check alk if you aren't already. The flow should be pretty obvious. The coral should sway with the current, but not look like it's being stretched and strained from the skeleton.

I've seen happens in pretty strong flows but a sudden strong surge can tear the tissue. I think you would be able to tell if direct flow was the problem.
