Help! Green BTA might be declining or dying

This past week I added my first two anemones to my tank. A condy which has moved a little bit, but appears to be healthy and eats food. But my green BTA looks about dead . He was discharging some brown slime-like stuff, and his mouth appears to be open. The BTA has not moved from the spot I placed him in the tank, nore has he ate any of the food i've tried to give him.

Is this nem probably dead? Should I remove him from the tank, or try to move him to a new location?

Leave it alone. Do not feed it. It's probably just acclimating. Post a picture and your parameters and maybe we can help.

I think you were right about it just acclimating. I sucked up the brown slime and the BTA looked pretty grim. But i left for a few hours and now it seems fine again.

You advise against feeding it right now tho? The condy loves the shrimp i've fed em, the BTA just hasn't been intrested.

Right. I would not feed any new anemone. Give it time to settle in and acclimate. They do several "water changes" (inflate deflate inflate) ... like they're exchanging the water they came with for the new water in your tank. Patience is important. Keep an eye on it and let it be for at least another week. Oh, and in my experience with a Condylactis and a BTA in the same tank ... BTA eventually won and the Condy died. I have a 185g and they were on opposite sides. FWIW.
