Help hammerhead retracting

Got a hammerhead a couple of days ago everything was fine until I did the water change today and now it looks like it has completely retracted.

Salt 1.025
Cal 380
pH 8.3
Amo 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 3 ppm
Alk 9 drops
Phos 0

On the bottom of my tank running a MX 80 halo on for 10 hours. This is my first coral I saw my hermits eating off the disc it's on earlier.

Give it some time probably fine. it's a completely new environment from where it was then it also just had a water change which may have had temp swing etc. Don't touch or move it let it sit and see what it looks like in the morning after the lights have been on an hour or so. If it's still retracted then I might begins to worry.

Dido on that. Probably just a temp/alk swing. They tuck in at little changes and will likely be just fine after a few am hours of light. Doesn't take too much to get them to draw up. Just a defensive posture.

OK, left it alone today it came out a little, but then retracted back in around 8 pm the same time. I guess they relax when the water is off. My zoa did the same thing. Thanks for the tips not really a patience type of guy but this new hobby is really helping me.

Do you properly preheat your water for water changes up to the temperature of your tank? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

You should do you best to mix and heat water to match exact parameters of what you have in your tank. pH/salinity/temperature. That way there are not to big of "swings" in water parameters in your main tank. The truth is no matter how close it is, your probably still going to **** off your corals for a bit each time. But this is to be expected. Your corals will shrink often and that may not mean anything. Changes in flow or lighting can do it as well as something so simple as a crab walking across them. The key is to keep eye and don't freak immediately.

Yes always I try to do it 1 degree warmer then my display tank. The display tank is 78 the replacement water is 79.

Yeah, everyone wanted to investigate the new arrivals when I put them in.

Water changes annoy corals, and fish. You're sticking things in the tank, its a bit invasive. They get over it. Side note, I'd bump your calcium up to around 420.

Ditto on calcium is add a supplement to get it up a bit. That hammer will be using some.
