Hi I have 2 clown fish in a cycled 20 gallon QT. I discovered one of them, the smaller one who is not eating has internal worms. I have prazipro and metro+ coming today for that. The other one is a very aggressive eater, and is very active started out with a whitish lump on its side. Today it opened up to be an ulcer. My LFS said that it is a bacterial infection and that I should use Nitrofurazone and metro+ for it. Can I use prazipro and Nitrofurazone at the same time? Which one is more urgent if I can't dose both of them. Gah I have no idea what to do.

The bacterial infection is likely the much more immediate threat. If you must treat one or the other, treat that.

With that said, there's not much I've found that praziquantel interacts with. I've never used it in conjunction with nitrofurazone, but I wouldn't be too concerned about drug interaction between the two.

On the prazipro bottle I believe it says not to use with other medications.

The number for hikari is also on the bottle. I called them last week and they returned my call within 15 minutes. Btw hikari does not recommend using prazi pro with copper as I know many folks use these together. They said copper lowers the effectiveness of prazi.

Good to know; I'm saving this. "OK" can mean just safe together; but obviously that doesn't mean they will work as well together.

I am going to treat both the parasitic and bacterial infection with Metronidazole. Thoughts?

Might work. Metronidazole claims to do both. But, IME, stuff that claims to do more than one thing seldom does either very well. This is especially true with products that claim to kill parasites.
