Help help!!

hello guys well tonight after about 2 months or so after RUSSM helped my out with my dynamic dns and apex will not show up either on my web site for the dns or the aquanotes app for the iphone...im so frusterated at this point im about to just sell the whole thing i e bay...anybody have any ideas as to what may be happening? thanks reefing community in advance...:-/

Check to see if you can access the webpage on your local network. If you can log in to your dydns account and see if it has your ip address. You may have to download their ip updater program to your computer to keep your ip address up to date. Check out Ken Argo's site.

ok i just logged into dyndns and downloaded the updater...now what..

Ok if I understand you correctly, you were able to access the apex from the Internet and now it doesn't work.

The updater program will send your computers ip address to the server so when it expires it will have the new address. If you have not been able to connect from the internet you can use the instructions on the unofficial users guide

I don't recall how we set things up when I helped you a while back, but if your router supports DynDNS, we'd have definitely used that.

You can use the software client instead of the router, but if you do, make sure that the router is not configured to update the DynDNS servers as well. There are some drawbacks to using the software updater in certain cases... most significantly, if you put it on a portable computer, it will update DynDNS for the public IP address of wherever you happen to use that computer - which is a BAD thing!
