We have added our 2nd part of rock 6 days ago. Our am levels are still looking great, but our nitrates are high... mornings at 20 and evenings they are past 30! We do a water change everyday. We are running a aquac urchin skimmer in our sump. Is there anything else we should do? I am concerned cause we can't get the levels down. Please help!!!!

If I'm remembering correctly, I believe Richard has stated that nitrate levels below 40 are acceptable (apparently they run about that at the reef site). It sounds like what you are doing is appropriate . How are your nitrites doing and what are your Amm readings? Is your system showing any signs of stress?

yea man, i had the same freakin' problem! My first part of my package took about 4 weeks to cycle, and that was basically just for the nitrites! Everything else was fine...if I were you, I would not do that many water changes, it will only prolong the cycling. Trust me, eventually (weeks maybe?) it will go down, mine was about 30...now its 0! I am going to call TBS and get my next package sent :-)! Good luck!

Our amm reading is .25. No signs of stress. We are only going to do water changes if the nitrates get over 40. Not to change the subject, but..... did you get any aiptasia on your rock? We can't id a few little things.. they look like aiptasia, but we heard that Richard said there aren't any in the rock. I will post a pic soon.
