Help, I Used Non Aquarium Silicon

I used some silicon in my sump to keep a baffle in place 12"x8". I read on the back after setting the system up on my new reef tank that it is not recommended for a few things with aquariums being one of them. Am I in trouble or will it be okay. It doesn't seam to have any anti-bacterial agents in it but is that still bad.

most if not all say not safe for aquarium use. the biggest thing is for mildew resistance. if it's window and door, you're "fairly" safe. if it's kitchen and bath, then you have some troubles.

ahh... you're probably ok. I've acidentialy picked up the wrong type before and used it. Silicone II for kitchen and bath. Granted it was for one baffle on a 150gal system, but no ill effects were ever seen. This happened several years ago.

I think you'll be fine. They all say don't use on aquariums b/c the company doesn't want to be held liable when you don't put it together right and it dumps massive amounts of water on your upstairs apartment living room floor :D.

If you got window and door, you're def good to go. If you to kitchen and bath...... don't know that I could vouch 100% for that

If it says 100% Silicone some were on the tube you will be fine.
I have used window and door Silicone from home depot and it was fine.

I've been using the silver kitchen and bathroom with no problems.Last time I went to purchace some it had changed to the new type with the mildew stuff in it.Well I didn't know about the mildew stuff till after I used it and set up the tank. It's been up and running now for a month with no problems. But iI still woudn't advise using the mold resistant kind and it seems to be all they are making in the clear now.I was out of town this weekend and found 5 old tubes on the back of a shelf at home depot, so I snatched them all.BTW
