please help me help my clam.

Just been like that for a few hours? I wouldnt worry about it, give it some time and let it recover. If it gets worse, then I start to investigate.

ok. if it was anything, i would have wanted to nip it in the butt. my clams are my favorite non-motile things in the tank.

any other corals close to that side of the clam??

can you list your fish / inverts?

are you using a GFO??

any older pics and can you post another new one of the clam??

it does look better today. about half as pinched as yesterday.

the only thing relatively close are some zoas, but they arent touching it. there is a favia but its on the opposite side.

never seen either of my shrimps pickin at the mantle. nor have i seen my serpant star doing anything remotely dangerous.

no GFO. just skimming, fuge and filter sock.

heres an earlier pic . . .

what about fish??

the area in question is very localized, leads me to believe he is being stung or nipped at.

it may have been my tang (who i cant catch to save my life). ill keep an eye out.

hmm, my yellow watchmen did go on a building spree early yesterday. think it might of done something?

you can try covering the clam with half a pop bottle ( with a few holes for flow ) to see if anything changes, this will give you an idea if it is one of your fish.

good luck and keep us posted
