Hi guys,

I harvested this small frag while diving today.
Can someone help ID this blue plant?
It has a soft body stalk; some sort of sponge?

Please advice

Blue lolly pop Tunicate.(filter feeding sponge type)

The Blue Palm is non-photosynthetic and has no lighting requirements, but should be placed in an area of strong water current. Though not nescessary (they eat dissolved matter), they will benefit from supplemental feeding with liquid plankton and other dissolved organic foods

Good Luck

where was this harvested from?

It's a pacific species most common off of southeast asia, but extending as far as off the coast of mexico. Nephtheis fascicularis.

It's also essentially impossible to keep, and not even the dedicated NPS guys have had any success with it.

Thanks for the info guys~;

It is indeed the palm coral. After much reading..yea kinda impossible to keep. It was just too pretty when i saw it. Anyway ill keep my hands off the palm coral in the future.

U r pretty right; i am from Southeast Asia - dived off the coast
