Take a look at my Foxface... what sort of problem is causing the unusual white rings with the dark circles around it??? It's only on the one side and you can see that it's all in his rear area.
It looks like some sort of injury to me that may be infected. Have you netted or moved the fish recently? You could try a large water change using well aged and aerated water and see if it looks better tommorrow. I would be prepared to use a good antibiotic in a quarantine tank. Maracyn-Two at double strength or a nitrofuran such as nitrofurazone or nifurpirinol would be good choices. I would also reduce the salinity way down in the Qtank, but watch the pH. Use some StressGuard or another polymer to serve as a temporary mucus barrier for the wounds. If you can get a little Beta glucan to add to the food that would be great (proven immune system stimulant). Do not net the fish or remove it from water when transfering it to quarantine and back. Don't delay treatment more than overnight if you can.
