Help ID these guys.

I'm not sure these are soft corals, but I wonder what they are. What is the ettiquette about which ID forum to post if you don't know what they are in the first place?

First off these are little polyp type things that seemed to volunteer on their own. It started with 1 and after a few months there are 9 or so all grouped close to each other. Maybe 15-20mm tall and 5mm around.

Second off are some mysterious anemone type things that seem
to hide in rock crevices. They have been propogating, but don't seem to be bothering anything else as yet :

The first pic appears to be common polyps in the zoanthus family.
I'm not sure about the second pic, but if it's an anemone and it's propogating quickly, it's probably not good.

second pic is an orange ball anemone, which is actually in the corallimorph genus.

first - yes zoantus
second - looks like a Corynactis sp or Pseudocorynactis sp.

Could you explain what the second one is now that you've ID it? My Copper Band loves eatin this thing.

as I wrote either a Corynactis or Pseudocorynactis - they look both very similar...

The first picture is a Palythoa, not a zoanthid.

Zoanthidae is the family, Palythoa and Zoanthus are genera. It is a Zoanthid of the genus Palythoa.
