Help ID this wrasse

I purchased this wrasse a while back and was told it was a sunset fairy wrasse, however after looking online, it appears that this is not a sunset fairy wrasse. I just got an exquisite fairy wrasse and this unknown wrasse has been chasing the exquisite around so much, that he is in hiding all the time. Any help in identifying this wrasse and any info on temperament would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Yes, Cirrhilabrus pylei.

To be more specific, these are the Cebuan variants.

C. pylei from Cebu have a black margin on their caudal fin and a large black spot 2/3 on the way down their dorsal.

They are commonly termed sunset fairy wrasses.

A very aggressive species.

Yours appears to be a female, by the lack of black pigmentation on tail and dorsal fin. Also, body is predominantly pink and fins are yellowish. Pelvic fins are long but not as long as they can be. With time, it should mature nicely into a male and boss everything in your tank. It should turn up like the one posted by bradley :)

Thanks everyone!!! So its a sunset PYLIE wrasse and not just a sunset fairy wrasse. When I looked up sunset fairy wrasses I got pics of wrasses that looked more along the lines of the princess parrot. So mine is indeed a pylie?? Do I need to remove her from the current tank and put her in my 90g that has a 4-line wrasse? She is picking on my new exquisite and I don't know if that will just stop in a few days or not. Any suggestions???

I had to remove mine from my 120 reef- it was became nasty to a very expensive hooded wrasse. Easy choice there. It had behaved for the first 2 months.Good
luck.
